   this laptop looks amazing…but unfortunately its a piece of ****. the cpu is mediocre it doesnt have a blu ray drive, and the toshiba “quad core bullshit” is nothing but a scam… u must use toshiba software to actually use it…so no it wont work while using demanding apps like autocad maya or any of those. im so pissed off at this thing because i was this close to buying it. the only thing this offers is a shitty hand recognition software and hardware that maybe will do in two or three years.

   Yep, the screen has blown me away, if only it had a Blu-Ray drive. Runs AutoCad, 3DS Max and Maya beautifully…runs most games pretty well also.
   Definetely a high quality laptop thats well worth the price.

   yeah Its extremeley quiet, the disc drive is the only thing at makes a little noise when loading a disc, otherwise its very quiet.

   In terms of heat it barely heats up at all, after a few hours the very back vent gets quite hot but you wont notice it unless you put your hand back there, the rest of it stays completely cool (as in the parts that you’ll actually touch).

   Face recognition in videos I havent used yet, Its sort of another useless gimmick to me, dont really need it to be honest.

   How good is the recognition of faces in videos? I do not think “super-useful” as a curiosity but is interesting and it can sometimes take advantage does it work well? I mean a kind of program that should have a video that acknowledges all sides and you can see the video at this time that appears each

   Well my G50 arrived, its the Australian model and suprisingly has a much better processor than the newer US G55 model, with a T900 instead of the P7350.

   All I can say is…money well spent. It runs great, the graphics card is a little less powerful than I would like, but still great. Speakers and full HD screen are amazing together, esp watching movies.

   Its built pretty well, the cover on the screen is slightly loose but other than that its a solid awesome machine.
