What Laptop below $1000 is good to handle gaming?
Also, what do I need to install to make sure my laptop is up to snuff? And how/where do I get the things I need?

newegg.com is a great website for Great computers for a low price.
look up on newegg.com they have pretty good deals… other wise i would just make a desktop which would be much better for gaming… and you can make it for less then 1000 and would be much better then anything u can get from a laptop… and install sli that would be sick
Well you can look at and see if they have any.
Try this one my friend has it and he plays Far Cry 2 on it
You can’t get a ‘good’ gaming laptop for under 2k… lol Save up for an Alienware! haha
Toshiba is awesome. But if you really want to get it for gaming, you may need to spend a pinch more. OR upgrade your RAM especially if you get a vista laptop. If you buy a laptop with Vista or if you look at them in the store, vista comes with a performance evaluation program which will give you ratings and numbers on your computers different performance aspects. Many stores will have this data displayed on the screen in the store. P.S. Shes right! Alienware is AWESOME also
DO NOT GET A DELL
This question has been asked almost as often as the one about “Is such and such a genuine lottery because they say I’ve won some money!”. What is it about laptops, you have people who purport to be computer experts saying things like Toshiba 964782b25x is awesome esp. with vista and it is just bollocks, none of these people have run any FPS on a laptop because they just won’t go. They read the specs and think wow! and I admit that laptops have become more powerful in recent times but they are NOT designed for ******** gaming, they can run a movie in the corner of the screen while you do word or something. FPS’s need a huge fan and heat sink to keep the CPU cool for starters, and laptops just don’t have that. You might be able to install the game and crank it up but the second you have more than 2 characters or a big explosion the thing will freeze up and over time will fry the motherboard. Get a desktop, they might not be as cool or portable as a laptop but even the cheapest is way better than the best laptop and certainly better than you will get for the money you are talking! At least you will be able to play games. As for my creds, well I have none but I wouldn’t want you to blow your cash and be disappointed.
